Infertility Specialist Dr. Joshua Hurwitz Appointed to Lead Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Danbury Hospital

Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) June 15, 2010 -- Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT) – Fairfield County’s largest fertility clinic and egg donation center (http://www.rmact.com) – announced today that Dr. Joshua M. Hurwitz has been appointed Division Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) services in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences of Danbury Hospital. Dr. Hurwitz, who joined the RMACT team in 2006, is an infertility specialist (http://www.rmact.com/about_staff_hurwitz.htm) in reproductive endocrinology with a passion for patient care and teaching.

As Division Director of REI, Dr. Hurwitz will be responsible for developing and implementing the division’s academic program, teaching residents, and giving lectures, as well as caring for infertility patients. Dr. Hurwitz has been teaching residents at Danbury Hospital in the operating rooms, clinic and RMACT’s private office for over three years, making his transition to director a natural progression. He will continue teaching and implementing the most advanced infertility therapies available, including endocrinological, surgical, genetic and in-vitro fertilization (IVF) (http://www.rmact.com/programs_in_vitro.htm)techniques.

Dr. Joshua Hurwitz is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Along with his work at RMACT and Danbury Hospital, he is an associate professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology and Society from Cornell University, and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Hurwitz completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, both in Philadelphia and completed a three-year fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. His research interests include reproductive aging, IVF, premature ovarian failure, oocyte cryopreservation, reproductive surgeries, embryo donation, and bioethics.

Dr. Hurwitz is a member of the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists, Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. He has been recognized with the “People’s Choice” and “Leading On-Time Doctor” awards from Vitals.com.
